let's talk!

So i was sitting here this moring after i took my brother to the train, and I couldn't help but think about who God is in our lives and what we have made Him to be.
Most of us would not ever think that we limit God but I have found in my life that this is exactly what many many people who profess faith do. We limit God. You ask how do we limit God how is it that we don't let God be all that God is? It's really simply, we think we know who God is. I am always amazed to hear people say things like, God helped me through this, or God was right there beside me, or God told me.... and my personal fav is " I've been praying and I feel that God is telling me to tell you that........." How Big is your God? and do you truly believe it? Is your God so well defined that you could write a paper or a sermon about his attributes and how they interact with humanity? Is Our God SO WHITE COLLIER that we have forgoten how Blue Collier the Awsome mighty King of the universe really is?

now I might start stepping on toes, but has your church made God this spirit that is like our personal body guard, or our personal concious. Guys, WAKE UP... GOD IS A HANDS ON DIRTY GOD, who is not looking out for you. God is not looking our for you but for all of who you are. There is a difference. If God is lookig out for you, you have stripped him of his ability o guide you, to be that lamp on the dark path, we have stripped Him of his ability to shape history for all of humanity, we strip God of his ability to be omniscient. On the other hand if we allow God to look out for all of who we are we allow him to shape the world, to be in all places at the same time, to move us down some other path, God is allowed to be God, the God that I have known to trust dispite those around me who claim to serve the same God.

just a few thoughts on how we interact and limit God. I beleive that God allows us to limit him because god is a respector of persons and would not disrespect us by pushing us beyond our understanding of him.

give me some feed back here, I'm looking to flesh this thought out a little bit more.
thanks again everyone.

Fall and DC is finally cold

Ok so it's now fall, and as a Canadian being here in the Nations Capital has been wonderful. It has finally gotten cold today but that's ok because it is December and Christmas is around the corner. So we moved into our apartment about two months ago and well how do we say this, You know your in the ghetto when you think the cock roach problem is controled when you only kill 6-10 a day! Nothing says welcome to the neighborhood like that!
Now on to other news of the Campbell houshold. Lindy is working at a music store and loving it here in teh city and i'm waiting for me temperary green card so I can work. I am also on staff at United Wesleyan Church in Alexandria VA. For those who may not know this is the church that joanne Lyons's husband wayne is seniur pastor of. It has been a great experiance for me to be there and it has opened up alot of doors for me to speak in teh New year on our minsitry and our vision for Washignton D.C. and for all urban neglected neighborhoods of the nation!
I know that there are a few bethany grads in the chesapeak district and I need to know if you or someone you know who is going to the pastor's confreence in Orlando inJanuary if you or they are driving down and if so if you have room for two. Another pastor at the church and myself are to go but we have to way of getting there so if anyone can help us out i'd appreciate it!
well that's all for now! gotta go take lindy to work!

Fall is here

Ok, so we have left Calgary finally, and now thigns are moving very quickly forward for lindy and I. We had planned to spend our time in western NY this fall, but Lindy was able to get a good job here in the beautiful city of D.C. so she starts next monday. So alison, the time is here, the Campbells are in the city. God is so amazing because we were able to find housing for 400 a month for the first few months, lindy has a good job that she can keep through the winter when she is doing her stdent teaching, and everythign is linnign up well for my visa.
Everyone who reads this blog, I woudl ask that you pray for my visa. Things have lined up for me to aquire it but as everyone knows that dosn't always mean you get it! soplease pray that my visa process is a smooth one so that I can start working full time in minsitry in washington D.C.

Well that's the news for this week, I'll write again soon!

THE CAMPBELL'S ARE MOVING!

oh so this summer has been a busy one! After I graduated from school I flew outto calgary to start work and the summer has flown by! LIndy had a great time on choral tour in May and then joined me out here in the end of may. Since then we have been busy working and lindy practising for her recital which is the end of August (sorry allison). Come Sept 2, 2006 the campbells will be moving to NEw YOrk state to live with lindy's parents for the fall. We are doing this becuase we just can't get everythign together that we need to do before we move in 1 month. So having said all that we will be in D.C. for sure after christmas as LIndy has to do her student teaching. Allison, we need to get together some time this fall, lindy and I are planning a couple of trips down to the area through the fall to look for work and housing so we'll be in touch!

just a couple of notes Lindy and I would really apreciate everyone's prayers as we finish up our time in Calgary. We have some things that need to happen like immigrassion for me and an insurance claim to be settled before we are out of the clear. BUt GOd is good and has shown himself faithful and we are counting on Him to continue to be faithful to us.

That's the news from the campbell's for now, moving to NY in Septmber, full time ministry for me will start officially in January in the Chesapeack district which i'm looking forward to. so till i get around to posting again!

April

So ok again I know you all are goin to hate on me for not posting more frequently, but really there hasn't been aa whole lot going on! OK so I lied...
LIndy and I are moving to Washington D.C. in July or Augest, we really haven't got all the details wokred out yet. We will be there perminatly as we are wanting to start a para-church organization with the Wesleyan church to bring social justice to the Inner Cities of North America and we know that we nee dto start in the heart of the most powerful nation in the World (that's for my wife's sake). So we will be moving there and yah, it should be fun! ok so that's the big news from us here in the cold windy north. oh yah ang I graduate in like what... eighteen days! What else is going on with us...... let me think here oh yes CHoral is touring in MAy and will be traveling ot the deep south, I will post the churchs as soon as I get them if anyone is in the nighbourhood and woudl want to live in teh past for even one night you can do that! So right after Choral tour lindy and I fly back out to Calgary where I have work already waiting for me and Lindy will do her student recital which will be good. Then we move in july or Augest to D.C. and no move long distance moving!!!!!!! driving the nation three times is enough for me!

ok i gotta go, D.O.H. reading has my name on it... last assignment to do before exams!!! YAH!!!!
talk to yah all

More another Day!

So it's official,
There are 71 days before graduation and I really should be doing work rather then sitting here writing this! Oh Well the world will not end! (or will it).
LIfe here in the big city of Sussex is happening, school, friends, church, you know the usual is going on. No little campbell's to rejoice over, no big news worthy events to report. Life as usual.

I forgot how much wasn't here in Sussex yesterday when I went to buy a printer. The cheapest printer was 50.00 which wasn't bad, but there was only one! I'm so glad that in the future there will be a Wal-mart, yes sussex is getting a Wal-mart. At least then there will be some options! So the printer I did get, and now I can print out my non-existing papers that are due to Monday! Somethings never change. I still can't get papers doen early, i'll still be running around sunday trying to finish! oh well such is life!

Joe adn KAren show up today which will be good seeing how it's been a while since I"ve seen them both, good times,
well i"m out for another class!
more another day!
